Kettle Creek
Kettle Creek is a small town in a dry valley. There is a slow green creek with a deep part, a flat rock lot where everybody plays ball, a water tower with the bottom rungs missing from the ladder, and a ridge that is older than the town.
Mrs. Toadwell lives two doors down and is never surprised by anything. A young rabbit turns up at every game and every party. He is somebody's cousin. Nobody asks whose.
